President : Paul Scotland
The current president of Delta’s board of directors, Paul has been a member of the organization since 2008. Teamwork and capacity building are important principles which Paul values in his work with Delta. He obtained an orientation to law at York University. Aside mentoring students with disabilities, he is also an active member of various organizations some of which include: Advisory Board of the Ethno-racial People with Disabilities, Coalition of Ontario, City of Toronto Employment Project, Equity Advisory Group – Law Society of Upper Canada. He is also a former Board member of Jane Finch Community Legal Services, Red Cross Board of Directors, YRCC767 Condo Corporation Board of Directors.
Vice President: Seema Khanna
Seema Khanna joined Delta’s board in 2014. She has over thirteen years of experience in research, teaching and project management in government and academic environments, including over nine years with Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change. In her current position as Senior Policy Coordinator she provides support in the design of policies to address greenhouse gas emissions. Her educational qualifications includes advanced degrees in Economics and Environmental Studies.
Secretary : Patricia Agostini
Patricia has lived in the Humber Summit/Humbermede communities since emigrating to Canada more the 40 years ago. She values having a healthy environment and is interested in being an active participant in the continued development of a thriving community. A Human Resources (HR) professional who is the Director of HR at the Royal Conservatory, She brings more than 20 years of experience and is familiar with various area of the field. Her expertise in Human Resources, knowledge of the community and connections to senoris are important assets which Patricia can peaks Italian and Spanish.
Alex Lau, (Acting Treasurer)
A manager of business planning and transformation at TD, Alex brings local and international experience in business leadership and management. A former director of Customer Experience in Indonesia, Alex has worked with many major corporations in the GTA. With an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business in London, Alex’s skills in financial management, business and marketing are a key asset in exploring the community’s desire to strengthen economic activity in Humber Summit. Alex speaks Cantonese.
Esha Sharma, Member at Large
An experienced HR professional who is certified in training and development (CTDP) Esha has more than 18 years of experience in the academic and corporate world. She has successfully built HR strategies and learning and development paradigms for governments, organizations and corporations. With a PhD in psychology and MBA in HR management, Esha has successfully managed emotional and mental health of the workforce in organizational settings. Esha joined the board in 2014 and has actively contributed towards social development of children, youth and women.
Executive Director: Kemi Jacobs
Kemi became the Executive Director in 2014. With over 20 years of community involvement, Kemi has been a leader in the non-governmental and public sectors, serving as the President of the Canadian Council for Refugees, executive director of CultureLink Settlement Services, Chairperson of the National Anti-Racism Council of Canada, Director of Housing at Toronto Community Housing, Chair of the Board at CAFCAN. Her volunteer works have included work on Rites of Passage programs and human trafficking, as well as a personal initiative on self hate and self love in the African community.
