We’re proud to share that the motion for the 7–9 Wardlaw Crescent supportive housing project has officially PASSED at the Planning & Housing Committee!
This is a huge win for North Etobicoke and for the future of affordable housing in our city.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to every community member, advocate, and organization who supported this motion - especially those who made time to speak up with powerful, heartfelt deputations. Your words mattered. Your voices moved this forward.

Let’s clear up the confusion.
There’s been a lot of talk about the affordable housing project at 7-9 Wardlaw Crescent, and unfortunately, a lot of it isn’t true.
This is not a shelter. It’s permanent, rent-geared-to-income housing for seniors, essential workers, and community members who are struggling to stay in the neighbourhood.
Right now, the average rent for a one-bedroom in Toronto is $2,480 a month (Rental.ca, March 2025). That’s just not realistic for many people in our community.
This project is needed. It’s thoughtful, community-informed, and backed by real facts.
Take a minute to read and share this post so we can spread the truth and build something better together. Please note, we are NOT asking for donations to sign.
