Delta Family’s Strategic Plan 2025-2028

1. Capacity Building & Poverty Reduction

Goal

Strategies

Reduced impact of poverty amplified by the rising
costs of living on the lives of Black and
marginalized communities by enhancing
economic opportunities, advancing leadership,
mentoring grassroots and fledgling groups and
promoting community resilience, assets and
strengths.

1.1 Explore innovative responses to rising demands due to
poverty/income and food insecurity.
1.2 Offer opportunities to build sustainable skills that will provide avenues
to obtaining employment and greater financial literacy.
1.3 Co-design of programs – integrating client voice in a meaningful and
sustained way.
1.4 Enhancing and growing Trustee Role

2. Prioritizing Programs Focused on Black Communities

Goal

Strategies

Delivery of a comprehensive envelope of relevant
programs that address the unique experiences of
Black communities.

2.1 Respond to the needs of the various and diverse needs of Black
communities.
2.2 Implement a comprehensive and coordinated community
engagement/Outreach Plan.
2.3 Ensure all programs informed by the principles of the Sesa Wo Suban
Model.

3. Enhancing Programs for Families, Youth and Seniors

Goal

Delivery of a comprehensive envelope of
programs that apply the Sesa Wo Suban model to
address the current and evolving needs of
families, youth, and seniors in Northwest Toronto.

3.1 Expand knowledge and application of the Sesa Wo Suban Model
internally and externally.
3.2 Establish a comprehensive envelope of programs for seniors living in
NW Toronto.
3.3 Create an engaging and holistic series of programs that build youth
leadership and mentors and reduce risk factors.
3.4 Provide programs that strengthen family bonds, improve child-family
relationships and equip parents and caregivers with skills to parent
effectively.
