  • Nick Seaton

    Director – Secretary

    A former Rexdale resident who thinks that the programs which Delta Family offers can make life and transitions less challenging, Nick bring expertise in fund raising and corporate relations. He has worked in the corporate sector for many years and is currently an Associate Vice President at TD bank. Nick has extensive experience in Risk and Business management after nearly 20 years at TD and IBM.

  • Catherine Budhoo

    Director

    Catherine Budhoo is a finance professional with over 10 year’s experience working in Banks, Fintech, and Government. Her experience ranges from Project accounting and reporting to Management accounting. She brings a high level of accounting acumen and financial insight on how to manage organisations effectively. She studied both in Canada and the UK and currently holds a BA Economics from University of Toronto, MA International Finance from London Metropolitan University, and designated FCMA, CIMA, CGMA from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

    Catherine spent her formative years in Rexdale and the strong sense of community and diversity which contributed to her desire to see the community thrive and aid in the positive development of programs to build a stronger foundation for the residents of the community.

    For fun, she enjoys taking classes learning new things and travelling to new places to experience new cultures and see the landscape of this beautiful earth.

  • Sharon Tindyebwa

    Director

    Sharon Tindyebwa has over a decade of experience in communications, fundraising, and inclusive storytelling in the non-profit and public sectors. She currently works at CBC as the manager of community and partnerships. Sharon has a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University and a Post-graduate Diploma in Journalism from Humber College, where she was the recipient of the Faculty Award for Newspaper Feature Writing.

  • Mussa Gikineh

    Treasurer

    Mussa was born and raised in the York/North York neighborhoods of Toronto. Mussa is of Gambian decent and a youth leader within the Gambian community focusing on nurturing the relationship between the youth and their community. Mussa is also passionate about working with students, providing advice and help with job applications and interviews. He has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree and Graduate Accounting Diploma both obtained from McMaster University. Mussa has several years of experience within the accounting and finance industry. He currently works as an auditor in public accounting, focusing on financial services clients. Prior to being an auditor, Mussa has worked as a Credit Analyst in the financial industry.

  • Jo-Anne Liburd

    Chair

    Jo-Anne Liburd is a Communications Consultant with more than 25 years of in-house and consulting-based marketing and communications experience. As a consultant, she works primarily with community-profit organizations serving vulnerable populations. Her employers and clients have included various healthcare and community organizations addressing the needs of under-serviced and marginalized communities. She brings a passion for social justice, access and equity to Delta Family’s board, as well as an ever-present sense of humour. Jo-Anne has significant governance experience having served in leadership roles on several volunteer boards.

  • Hina Latif

    Vice Chair

    Hina is an experienced corporate lawyer with over 10 years of experience at Mercedes Benz and BMO.  She is currently Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Mercedes Benz, she has been an advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at her workplace and is President of the National General Counsel Network. Hina is South Asian, and enjoys boxing and kick boxing.

  • Aliene Gibos

    Director

    A result oriented and hardworking professional with extensive experience in governance and the non-for-profit sector. Aliene works at the City of Toronto enhancing the lives of the community by providing support around food security and counselling. Aliene has participated in many Delta Family programs and is passionate about volunteering with organizations such as the Toronto District School Board, Toronto Public Health, and Parkdale Golden Age Foundation. Aliene has a Bachelor of Arts from Ryerson University.

  • Kemi Jacobs

    Ex-Officio- Executive Director

    Kemi Jacobs became the Executive Director of Delta Family in 2014. With over 20 years of community involvement, Kemi has been a leader in the non-governmental and public sectors, serving as the President of the Canadian Council for Refugees, executive director of CultureLink Settlement Services, Chairperson of the National Anti-Racism Council of Canada, Director of Housing at Toronto Community Housing, Chair of the Board at CAFCAN. Her volunteer works have included work on Rites of Passage programs and human trafficking, as well as a personal initiative on self-hate and self-love in the African community.
